Guidelines on the Inclusion of Students of Other Faiths in Catholic Secondary Schools
On April 30th 2010, a set of Guidelines on the Inclusion of Students of Other Faiths in Catholic Secondary Schools were launched at the JMB/AMCSS annual conference for principals (Joint Managerial Body / Association of Managers of Catholic Secondary Schools). Aiveen Mullally (Marino Institute of Education) was commissioned by the JMB to write these guidelines. The guidelines offer practical suggestions to Catholic secondary schools on how to welcome and facilitate students of different faiths and no faith, while remaining true to the characteristic spirit of the school. A copy of the guidelines will be sent to every post-primary Catholic school in Ireland in May by the JMB. Marino Institute is delighted to have been involved in this initiative.
