Admissions & Registrar's Office

The Registrar's Office takes responsibility for your experience from the time that you contact the College to the time that you graduate. Thus admissions, registration, examinations, examination results and conferring as well as accommodation assistance and access come under the remit of the Office.

Mature Undergraduate Applicants

Applicants who are 23 years of age, or over, on 1 January of the year of intended entry, may apply for entry to the Bachelor in Education (Primary), the Baitsiléir san Oideachas Trí Mheán na Gaeilge (Bunmhúinteoireacht) or the Bachelor in Science courses on mature grounds. Mature applicants must apply through the CAO by 5.00pm, 1 February. The CAO online application facility for Late Applicants opens on March and closes on 1 May at 5.00pm. Please note however that there is no late application availability for the Bachelor in Education (Primary) programme (CM001/CM002) or Baitsiléir san Oideachas Trí Mheán na Gaeilge (Bunmhúinteoireacht) (CM003/CM004). Applicants will be required to submit supplementary information forms.

Grants/Scholarships

Grants are available from Local Authorities to all students who satisfy the requirements of the Higher Education Grants Scheme. This applies to the Bachelor of Education (Primary), the B.Sc (Education Studies), B.Sc (Early Childhood Education) and Professional Master of Education (Primary Teaching). Details of these grants and of eligibility conditions are available from Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI) and www.studentfinance.ie or for continuing students, from the Local Authority of the area in which the applicant is ordinarily resident.

Uversity offers scholarships for mature students who are undertaking a Bachelor's degree. Please see www.uversity.org for further details.

Gaeltacht Scholarships and Commemoration Scholarships are based on the results of the Leaving Certificate Examination. These, along with Irish Language Third- Level Scholarships, are acceptable at Marino Institute of Education.
