ICT (Information, Communications and Technology) & E-Learning in Marino

Through the Local Area Network in MIE, the IT Department supports 100 staff and approximately 500 students on a daily basis. Students have access to two computer labs, a multimedia lab and seven interactive white-boards. Lecture rooms have data projectors and there is WiFi available on campus.

Students also avail of an online virtual learning environment, moodle, to support their learning at MIE.

Martin Lynch is our IT Manager. He has responsibility for the networks, servers and all IT projects.

Patrick Geary provides first- line technical support, telephone and systems administration.

Denis Mc Goveran supports staff in providing on-line learning for students and external courses. He is also involved in website development and maintenance, and is working on a long - term project to upgrade the Institute's information storage systems.

Alison Egan is the Director of ICT and E-Learning.
