Disability Service

Supports

The Trinity College Dublin Disability Service provides a disability service to Marino Institute of Education (MIE) in conjunction with MIE's Access Officer. The Disability Service aims to provide advice and support to students with disabilities. These supports include:

  • Needs Assessment upon registration with the service in order to determine any additional learning requirements
  • Assistive technology training and support
  • Pre-placement planning and support
  • Liaison with tutors/lecturers to help arrange accessible programme materials
  • Extended library loans
  • Occupational Therapy: A practical support service for students with a variety of disabilities, focusing on developing skills and strategies to manage the everyday activities of student life.

Registration

Incoming students can register with the Disability Service by:

  • Entering MIE through the Disability Access Route to Education (DARE)
  • Disclosing their disability and wish to avail of supports when completing the pre-registration form online 
  • Disclosing their disability and wish to avail of supports at registration during their 'Induction' in September

Continuing students are always welcome to register with the Disability Service at any stage of their studies. Students should update the 'Disability' section on their Maestro account and contact the Access Officer directly (contact details below). 

Registration with the Disability Service will involve submitting Evidence of Disability and meeting the Disability Officer for a Needs Assessment.
