MIE Student Accommodation Scheme 2023 - 2024 

We are now accepting applications for the MIE Student Accommodation Scheme for 2023-24. The aim of this scheme is to provide much needed support to our incoming first year students during their first year of their new and exciting college life.  This scheme is aimed at those who are economically disadvantaged.  We are offering up to 8 single occupancy rooms in the on-campus accommodation at the reduced rate of €160 per week to first year students.  This year there may be a small number of twin rooms available at the reduced rate of €125 per week.

For the academic year 2023 – 2024 MIE will offer a limited number of on campus accommodation places at the reduced rate of €160 euro per week. Places on the MIE Student Accommodation Scheme will be awarded to first time students, studying at MIE, from low-income households for the first year of their studies, and priority will be given to:

  • HEAR students
  • DARE students
  • Students from a designated Gaeltacht area
  • Students with a disability
  • First-time mature students
  • Members of the Traveller and Roma community
  • Further education award holders
  • Lone parents who are in receipt of a means-tested social welfare payment
  • Ethnic minorities
  • Refugees, those with leave to remain, and Asylum Seekers

Applicants will be assessed based on: 

  • Low household income as declared on the MIE Income Declaration form 2023 - 2024
  • Information provided by applicants in question 16 to 18 of this document.
  • Applicants may be asked for additional supporting documentation if required. 

Information on 2023-2024 application process. 

  • Applications are only open to applicants who are registered with Eber, the MIE Student Accommodation Management Company. If you have not already registered with Eber, please contact access@mie.ie 
  • Applications open from Tuesday, August 15th 2023 and will remain open until 5pm on Monday 28th of August.
  • The link to the application form is available by emailing access@mie.ie 
  • All applicants will be notified if their application was successful on Thursday, August 31st.
  • Successful applicants have 24 hours after notification of successful application to confirm their booking with MIE. 
  • If booking is not confirmed within the 24 hour time period, the offer of the room will be withdrawn and MIE will offer the room to the applicant next in line on the waiting list. This applicant will have 24 hours to confirm their acceptance of the room

MIE is the data controller and will use only your data for the assessing of the application and processing of the MIE Student Accommodation Scheme. The members of the MIE Student Accommodation Scheme review team will only have access to your data for the purpose of assessing and processing the MIE Student Accommodation Scheme application. Data shared other MIE departments, the MIE Leadership Team and the Governing Body will be anonymised. In the event of an appeal your data will be shared with the Registrar for their decision. Successful applicant’s personal data will be shared with the Eber management team.
