MIE Student Accommodation Scheme 2021 - 2022

MIE is delighted to announce the new Student Accommodation Scheme for the academic year 2021 - 2022. This scheme will provide support to those students who are economically disadvantaged by offering up to 15 single occupancy rooms in the on-campus accommodation at the reduced rate of €160 per week to first year students. Eligibility

For the academic year 2021 – 2022 MIE will offer a limited number of on campus accommodation places at the reduced rate of €160 euro per week. Places on the MIE Student Accommodation Scheme will be awarded to first time students from low-income households, and priority will be given to:

• HEAR students
• DARE students
• Students from a designated Gaeltacht area
• Students with a disability
• First-time mature students
• Members of the Traveller community
• Further education award holders
• Lone parents who are in receipt of a means-tested social welfare payment
• Ethnic minorities
• Refugees, those with leave to remain, and Asylum Seekers

Applicants will be assessed based on:
• Low household income as declared on the MIE Income Declaration form 2021 - 2022
• Information provided by applicants in question 16 to 18 of this document.

MIE is the data controller and will use only your data for the assessing of the application and processing of the MIE Student Accommodation Scheme. The members of the MIE Student Accommodation Scheme review team will only have access to your data for the purpose of assessing and processing the MIE Student Accommodation Scheme. Anonymised data about the MIE Student Accommodation Scheme may be shared with the other MIE departments, the MIE Leadership Team and the Governing Body in anonymised format. In the event of an appeal your data will be shared with the Registrar for their decision. Successful applicant’s personal data will be shared with the Eber management team.
