Network for Researchers in Catholic Education Annual Conference 2025, 16th-17th October 2025

Welcome to the website of the Network for Researchers in Catholic Education Annual Conference 2025, which will be hosted by the Centre for Religious Education at Marino Institute of Education, Dublin. The conference will take place from the 16th-17th of October 2025 at the MIE campus in Dublin.

Conference Theme: The Global Compact on Education – why it needs to be a more urgent priority for advocates of Catholic Education.

The NfRCE is pleased to announce that our annual conference will be dedicated to exploring the relevance of the Global Compact on Education. On September 12, 2019, Pope Francis launched the idea of a Global Compact on Education. However, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic the reception of this papal teaching has been obscured in many parts of Ireland and the UK. The NfRCE conference will cast the spotlight on the Global Compact on Education in order to explore its relevance for Catholic education, especially in the light of Leo XIV’s stance on Catholic social teaching.

Confirmed speakers include:

·         Associate Professor Sandra Cullen (Dublin City University)

·         Dr Aiveen Mullally (Marino Institute of Education)
