About NECC
MIE are launching our first National Early Childhood Conference, taking place 17th April 2026, with many more to come. In our ECE community at MIE, we value the opportunity of researchers, policymakers and early childhood educators to come together to share, discuss, debate and build on our diverse experiences, positions and research across all aspects of early childhood in Ireland. The conference is designed with this in mind, including a combination of research papers, practice meets and exchanges, policy inputs, practical workshops, artistic and creative opportunities, as well as student contributions, early childhood careers and vendors fair. It is an aim of the conference to foster collaboration through encouraging participants to form special interest groups, co-write for publication and start new research projects across the early childhood field.
The conference is organised by lecturers with an interest in early childhood education and is supported by our dedicated and passionate ECE student body and placement stakeholders.
Submissions for research paper and poster presentations, symposia and practical workshops will be reviewed by a panel of lecturers with expertise in early childhood across MIE.
