Migrant Teacher Project Timeline
The Migrant Teacher Project commenced in 2017.
The project was initially funded by the Department of Justice and Equality, then by the EU Asylum Migration and Integration Fund, and is currently funded by the Department of Education and Youth.
In Jan 2019 the first Bridging Programme, Being a Teacher in Ireland, commenced. The first graduation from the programme took place in July 2019. A bridging progamme has taken place each year since.
A bespoke bridging programme for Ukranian teachers ran in 2022.
The programme has enjoyed support from across the Education sector, with key stakeholders participating and presenting.
