Professional Accreditation

A number of MIE's programmes lead to professional accreditation:

The Teaching Council of Ireland

1. Route 1 (Primary Teaching)

Students who successfully complete the following courses and meet the minimum requirements will be eligible to register for a Teaching Council Number under Route 1

• Bachelor in Education (Primary Teaching)
• Baitsiléir san Oideachas trí Mheán na Gaeilge (Bunmhúinteoireacht)
• Professional Master of Education (Primary Teaching)
• Máistir Gairmiúil san Oideachas (Bunmhúinteoireacht) - Conair lán-Ghaeilge

2. Route 3 (Further Education)

Students who successfully complete the following courses and meet the minimum requirements will be eligible to qualify for a Teaching Council Number under Route 3 - Further Education

• Professional Diploma in Education (Further Education) - Full-Time (flexible delivery) and Part-Time

Qualifications Advisory Board

The following courses have been approved by the Qualifications Advisory Board

• Bachelor in Science (Early Childhood Education)

Department of Children, Disability and Equality

The following courses are recognised by the Department of Children, Disability and Equality as meeting both the regulatory and funding requirements to work in early learning and care services:

• Bachelor in Education (Primary Teaching)
• Bachelor in Science (Early Childhood Education)
• Professional Master of Education (Primary Teaching)
