Following the very successful ATEE Annual Conference 2025 at Marino Institute of Education, Dublin, the Organising Committee is pleased to invite conference participants to submit a full paper based on the research they presented at the conference.

Two publication opportunities are available:

  1. a Special Issue of the European Journal of Teacher Education (EJTE), and
  2. the ATEE 2025 Book of Proceedings.

When submitting, authors will be able to indicate which publication route/s they wish to be considered for.

At this stage, we are asking authors to submit an extended abstract (approx. 1,500 words). The extended abstract will be reviewed by the Editorial Committee. Where authors indicate that they wish to be considered for both publication routes, the review process will be used to determine whether the paper should proceed for consideration for the Special Issue or for the Book of Proceedings. All accepted contributions will ultimately require submission of a full paper. Full paper guidelines and timelines will be provided to authors following the abstract review stage as these will differ for the Special Issue and the Book of Proceedings.

On the cover sheet, you will be asked to indicate whether you wish your work to be considered:

  1.          for the EJTE Special Issue only,
  2.          for the Book of Proceedings only, or
  3.          for the Special Issue in the first instance and, if not selected, for the Book of Proceedings.

Please note that papers cannot be published in both publications. If a paper is selected for submission to the Special Issue and is subsequently accepted by the journal, it will not be included in the Book of Proceedings. Authors whose abstracts are not selected for the Special Issue will be invited to submit a full paper to the Book of Proceedings. Papers submitted to the Book of Proceedings will be included once they meet the required academic and editorial standards.

The deadline for submission of extended abstracts is Friday 17 April 2026, 17:00 Irish time (UTC+1).

Submission guidelines and a cover sheet are available for download above. All submissions must follow the format outlined in the guidelines and include the cover sheet indicating the publication option(s) for which the paper should be considered.

Extended abstracts should be submitted to [email protected] with the subject line: ATEE 2025 extended abstract submission
