Announcement of the sad passing of Bride Rosney

As President of MIE, I wish to express my condolences and that of the Chair of Governing Body, Professor Eoin O’Sullivan and the entire MIE community on the sad and untimely passing of Ms Bride Rosney. Continuing her stellar career and unique contribution to education, we were honoured that Bride served MIE as a member of Governing Body (2019 – present) and Academic Council (2020-present). She gave freely not only of her time, but her knowledge, keen insight and expertise which was always delivered with good humour, wit and unfaltering kindness. We were delighted only this week to receive a letter from Bride offering to serve another year, if not another term on Academic Council but sadly it was not to be. Our loss and sadness is great.  Our deepest condolences at this difficult time to the Rosney family at the passing of such an extraordinary woman who enriched the lives of those around her. May she rest in peace.

Bean uasal, stuama agus cineálta atá imithe uainn ar shlí na Fírinne. Ceannródaí do mhá na hÉireann ba ea Bride agus bhí sé de phribléid duinn í a bheith mar chuid dár bpobal anseo in Institiúid Oideachais Marino.  Déanaimid comhbhrón ó chroí le muintir agus le cairde Bride ag an am seo.

Leaba i measc na n-aingeal go raibh aici.
