MIE Student Accommodation Scheme 2026 - 2027
Applications for the MIE Student Accommodation Scheme for 2026-27 will open in Autumn 2026.
The aim of this scheme is to provide much needed support to our incoming first year students during their first year of their new and exciting college life. This scheme is aimed at those who are economically disadvantaged. We are offering up to 8 single occupancy rooms in the on-campus accommodation to first year students at the reduced rates of €166 (€23.71 per night) for a Classic room and €130 (€18.57 per night) for a bed in a twin room. Students must submit a reservation request and state on the form that they are applying for the bursary scheme so they can be prioritised.

Eligibility
For the academic year 2026-2027 MIE will offer a limited number of on campus accommodation places at the reduced rate of €166 euro per week (€130 for a twin room). Places on the MIE Student Accommodation Scheme will be awarded to first time students, studying at MIE, from low-income households for the first year of their studies, and priority will be given to:
- HEAR students
- DARE students
- Students from a designated Gaeltacht area
- Students with a disability
- First-time mature students
- Members of the Traveller and Roma community
- Further education award holders
- Lone parents who are in receipt of a means-tested social welfare payment
- Ethnic minorities
- Refugees, those with leave to remain, and Asylum Seekers
Applicants will be assessed based on:
- Low household income as declared on the MIE Income Declaration form 2025 - 2026
- Information provided by applicants in question 16 to 18 of this document.
- Applicants may be asked for additional supporting documentation if required.

The MIE student accommodation scheme for 2026/27 is currently closed. Applications will open in Autumn 2026. No additional applications will be accepted after the deadline closes.
MIE is the data controller and will use only your data for the assessing of the application and processing of the MIE Student Accommodation Scheme. The members of the MIE Student Accommodation Scheme review team will only have access to your data for the purpose of assessing and processing the MIE Student Accommodation Scheme application. Data shared other MIE departments, the MIE Leadership Team and the Governing Body will be anonymised. In the event of an appeal your data will be shared with the Registrar for their decision. Successful applicant’s personal data will be shared with the Eber management team.
