Biography
Dr Yvonne Naughton is a Lecturer in Education with Expertise in Social, Environmental and Scientific Education at Marino Institute of Education. She also has a role in the Development and InterCultural (DICE) Project which promotes the integration of development education and intercultural education in initial teacher education at primary level in Ireland. Yvonne has completed her Doctor of Education at DCU Institute of Education, with a specialism in Teacher Education. Her doctoral area of research focuses on diversity in initial teacher education and explores post-primary students’ motivations and perceptions of teaching as a choice of career from diverse racial, ethnic, or cultural backgrounds. Yvonne is a qualified primary teacher and completed her Master of Education by Research in the area of primary science education. She contributed to the NCCA Primary Curriculum Consultation through her involvement in a systematic literature review of STEM education and primary science education, in collaboration with team members in DCU Institute of Education.
