MIE Undergraduate Scholarships 2026
Recognising Excellence in Student Achievement
We're delighted to offer up to 20 scholarships worth €500 each across five categories:
- Volunteering - Recognising outstanding community contribution
- Arts and Culture - Celebrating creative accomplishment
- Cur Chun Cinn na Gaeilge - Aitheantas a thabhairt d'iarrachtaí chun an Ghaeilge a chur chun cinn
- Sports - Recognising athletic achievement and commitment
- Academic Achievement - Automatically awarded to the highest-performing CAO entrant in each course
Successful recipients will be honoured at our scholarship awards ceremony in November/December, to which family members are invited.
Application Process
Eligibility:
- Open to registered MIE undergraduate students entering through CAO in 2026
- Applications will open in Autumn 2026
How to apply:
- Complete the online application form by the deadline when it opens in Autumn 2026
- Upload all required supporting documents with your application
- You'll receive immediate email confirmation of your submission
Important notes:
- You may apply for multiple scholarships but must submit separate forms for each application
- All personal statements should be no more than 500 words
Category Requirements
Volunteering
- 500-word personal statement about your voluntary work
- Two reference letters (uploaded with application)
Arts and Culture
- Portfolio of your work (videos, images, audio files, etc.)
- 500-word statement about your artistic practice
Sports
- Evidence of high-level participation (certificates, media reports, etc.)
- 500-word statement about your sporting achievements
Cur Chun Cinn na Gaeilge
- 500 word statement about how you have helped to promote Irish
- Two testimonials from people who can support your application
Academic Achievement
- No application required - automatically awarded to the highest-performing CAO entrant in each course
Other Scholarships/Bursaries Available
All students who register on the Baitsiléir san Oideachas trí Mheán na Gaeilge (Bunmhúinteoireacht) are automatically awarded a €1000 bursary.
