        CAO Points and the TEG Qualification

        With regard to CAO points for the Baitsiléir san Oideachas Trí Mheán na Gaeilge only, 40 extra points will be awarded to each student who obtains a Pass (50%) or higher in the TEG Level B1 Examinations.

        No extra points beyond that will be awarded to any student who obtains a mark higher than 50% or who obtains a TEG grade higher than Level B1. No TEG points are awarded to those on the Bachelor in Education through the medium of English.

         

        TEG Fee

        Marino Institute of Education will reimburse successful students who register for the Bachelor in Education through the medium of Irish in Marino their TEG exam fee. For more details about this, see: www.teg/oid

         

        Sharing your TEG result with MIE:

        Applicants who undertake the TEG examinations in February 2024, must email a certified copy of their results to: [email protected] before Friday, 26 April 2024.

        Applicants who undertake the TEG examinations in May 2024, must email a certified copy of their results to: [email protected] before Monday, 17 June 2024.

        Applicants can forward the email they receive from TEG with their results, to: [email protected].
        When applicants email their TEG results to [email protected], they must include the following information:

        • Their CAO number
        • Their name as it appears on the CAO
        • The code of the course they are applying for (ex: CM003/CM004)

         

        If students have completed the TEG in the last two years

        Applicants who have completed the TEG exam within the past two years prior to entry in 2024, i.e. in 2022 or 2023, must email a certified copy of their results to: [email protected] before Friday, 26 April 2024. If students don't have a certificate, they must email TEG and ask TEG to send on their results via email. They will need to quote their exam number which should be in any email correspondence with TEG going back to when they completed the exam previously.
