Health and Insurance
All Non-EU must obtain health insurance as a requirement of their Irish study visit. Students must purchase their own health insurance as it is not provided by MIE. If your programme is more than 12 months student must buy private health insurance. There are several options available.

Student Medical Services
Fairview Medical Centre registers all incoming students to Marino through the Registrar’s Office in the college. The Medical Centre has a team of doctors and nurses on duty. Services available include illness review & fitness to attend college, phlebotomy, injections, clinical dressings, well woman services, asthma services, etc. Colds and Flu are both viruses and do not generally need a doctor’s visit. There is a local pharmacy across the road from Marino for over the counter remedies.
Registered students are entitled to three free visits to the service each academic year of their programme.
The Medical Centre is a 10 minute walk from the Marino Campus and is open from 9am until 5pm on week days.
There is an emergency service on Saturday mornings.

Medication
If you need to bring prescribed medication until you can find an alternative source in Ireland, please note that the maximum amount of imported medication permitted is a 3-month supply, which must be cleared through Customs by the Irish Medicines Board. Customs will only clear medication that is licensed for use in Ireland
