Opening a Bank Account
You are advised to open an Irish bank account after you secure accommodation in Ireland. You must open a bank account in person in a bank branch.
Some banks close to MIE include:
- Bank of Ireland, 25 Marino Mart, Fairview, Dublin 3
- Allied Irish Bank (AIB), 140 Lower Drumcondra Road, Dublin 9
- Permanent TSB (PTSB), 130 Lower Drumcondra Road, Dublin 9
Required Documentation
To open a bank account, you will need to bring copies of the below documents with you, when going to the bank in person:
- Proof of identity (e.g. passport)
- Proof of address (request a status letter from the Registrar's Office)
